January WCCC Print Competition
The January 15 meeting featured a print competition, with a theme of "Botanical". The competition was judged by Susan Simon, a juried artist and board member of the Cape Cod Art Association. Entries were submitted in Color and Black & White categories, and Susan provided critiques of each entry, in addition to scoring and ranking the images. Winning entries are shown above, and listed in the related Blog article.
Next Meeting: Wednesday, February 5
Our next meeting, February 5, will have an educational focus, with different WCCC members offering individual and small group mentoring sessions on a variety of topics. Have questions about camera settings? Need help with Lightroom or Photoshop? Always wondered how Chris Rosperich gets birds to pose for her? We hope to be back at the Dartmouth North Branch Library for the next meeting, but will confirm in the next couple of weeks.
Dartmouth Cultural Center
South Coast - What Makes Us Special
Our current exhibition is a joint effort with the Dartmouth Cultural Center, scheduled to run December 30th to February 8th. The theme for the exhibition is "South Coast - What Makes Us Special" and WCCC members were encouraged to submit images based on that theme. There will be 3 People Choice awards chosen by the guests of the Dartmouth Cultural Center. Voting will be open up to the 17th of January when the ballots will be counted and the winners announced. More details are included in the attached prospectus and entry documents, as well as under the Exhibitions tab.
Final Voting - South Coast Almanac
You have until January 31 to cast your votes for "quirky photos that capture the spirit of the South Coast". Entries include many from WCCC members. The winner will be featured in the March issue of South Coast Almanac, so cast your votes: https://southcoastalmanac.secondstreetapp.com
