The first regularly scheduled Education Night occurs on January 3, 2018. We will be presenting the New England Camera Club Councils Digital Circuit critique. During the summer months NECCC invites its member clubs to submit images to the circuit critique. Highly qualified NECCC judges review and critique the images providing a taped discussion on the merits of each image with suggestions on how images might be improved. In some cases the may provide an adjusted version of the image to demonstrate the results of their suggestions.
Bring your notepad to jot down the suggestions you might apply to your work both when shooting and during post processing. You also get to see the work from other clubs from across New England.
Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 7:00 PM at Anderson Way, Dartmouth.
Non Member Guest Fee: $5.00
We hope you are often visiting the WCCC Meetup page where you can check on the Meetups and FYI photo opportunities we have schedules. Getting out and shooting with your fellow members is a great way to learn from each other and visit great venues in our area. Brian Santerre, our Education Chairperson, is always looking for interesting photographic opportunities. Message Brian if you have a suggestion for a club outing.
NECCC Winter entry deadlines are approaching. We encourage you to submit your work to our NECCC representative Joan-Marie Proulx. The submission due dates for the Winter competitions are January 7 for Digital and January 17 for Print. Be sure to speak with Joan-Marie at Wednesday’s WCCC Meeting!

Our next WCCC Competition Night is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Although the theme is “Open” and gives you an opportunity to choose your own subject, etc. we hope you will concentrate on the Composition information presented at the December Education Night. There was a great deal covered that evening. Try to focus on just 4 or 5 elements. For example; Have a clear Point of Interest (subject,); having Foreground, middle ground and back ground in your image; Simplicity; Rule of Thirds; Leading Lines.
You can keep these in mind as you look over the entries and make your choice based upon those elements as well. Non Member Guests who might be interested in joining our club are welcomed to attend.

Hello Fellow WCCC Member:
Our November Education Night is scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
Non-Member guest fee $5.00.
Fellow member José Soler is presenting on “Photojournalism.” A former Director of the Arnold M. Dubin Labor Education Center at UMass Dartmouth, José has been working as a photojournalist for various activist, labor and human rights publications since the early 1970’s.
The visual impact of José’s images gives the viewer a sense of presence, of being there with his subjects, feeling the humanity and emotion. He has a knack for communicating the story through seeing and capturing the decisive moment.
José has taught as an instructor and lecturer at Rutgers University and Cornell University as well as academic courses on the impact and history of the labor movement, the role of minorities in the labor movement and other related topics at UMass Dartmouth.
José continually works to improve his photographic art and share his knowledge with his fellow photographers.
Our friend and Standard Times photojournalist Peter Pereira returns to judge our monthly competition on Wednesday, November 15! Appropriately, the theme this month is "photojournalism."
Peter will be critiquing the images and choosing the ribbon winners for our competition. There might just be some special prizes for the winners as well.
This is a great learning experience for all our members as Peter provides us with suggestions to improve our photography while captivating us all with his stories and humor.
It's sure to be a great evening!
Special Event Non Member Guest Fee: $10.00
Please check the WCCC Meetup page often for upcoming events! Our latest WCCC Field Trip to the Cape Cod Canal for a sunset was a terrific event. We were treated to a great sunset, the surprise visit of a passing cruise ship and a friendly fellow photographer and drone pilot! What a great night with fellow WCCC members!
Brian Santerre, our Programs & Education Chairperson, has been adding some FYI events you might be interested in photographing as well as future field trips. Up next is a Saturday trip to Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. See the Meetup posting for details.
